Love is Patient Love is Kind....... Love is Unselfish

So today I had a bit of a busy day at work!, and I could not wait to get home to my husband.  I was  not going to go to my zumba class  tonight because my husband cancelled his band practice because one of the guys was going to finish work too late. So we  said sweet! time together just the two of us! We are both supervisors of retail stores some weeks we have crazy hours, so it was  nice  to  know I would spend time with my husband earlier today since I  finished work at 3 and rushed out of there!!!

Long Story short  God  keeps blessing me with the opportunity to practice unselfish love.
My   Husband received a text from his friend who originally was suppose to finish work late, however he got out of work earlier and  asked if my husband would  still like to jam. He said no instantly because being  the awesome husband that he  is he  knew it meant a lot to me to spend time with him.  I saw  that my husband  really did want to spend time with me, but I also could tell he felt torn. So I decided for him and  I said go  to your practice I love you I know  you love to play music it makes you happy.

 Yes I am Sad
Yes I  miss him Tonight
Yes I feel a bit Lonely
and Yes I feel a bit  Jealous he would chose his friend over me

But I am learning  it's not about that

True love is  much more then getting what  you want all the time. A Marriage is about putting the other  person's happiness before your own not because  you think it is the right thing to do or because  you want   something back in return. Unselfish love can move mountains because  it is not rooted in manipulation but in the  truth that  you love that person  and you  would do anything  for  that person you would lay down your life for them you would take bullet for them. Seeing   my husband happy brings me so much joy that I can't help but smile and  fall more in love with him even when I have to sacrifice time  together sometimes. It is worth it because I see how it knits us closer together not  only because I respect him as he is and his personal needs, but also the things that bring him life and passion.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

1 Corinthians 13 (New International Version)

p.s No one Said  It is  easy having unselfish love but little by little we will get there with  hugs  & kisses ,faith, and hope . Thank God that  Love is Patient and that God has that kind of  perfect love in  1 Corinthians 13  for us daily . So we may loves others  especially Our Husbands with that kind of unconditionally love.

Yours Truly

Oh how true this is! And marriage is about this every single day. I have been married 16 years this year and we dated 6 years before that, so I can tell you that this is a consistent theme throughout. And sometimes it's really hard. Other times it's easy. But the fact that you recognize its importance is so wonderful. Thank you for sharing this and for linking up with NOBH! Smiles -
